Is a 2.5 ton pallet truck overkill for a small grocery storage?
We run a small grocery wholesale setup in Deira and honestly most of our pallets are not that heavy, maybe 800kg to 1.2 ton on a busy day. But lately suppliers have been sending mixed loads on bigger pallets and the old manual trolley we have just feels sketchy when you push it over the ramp near our loading area. One of my workers almost lost control last week and that got me thinking maybe I should upgrade before someone gets hurt. A friend told me to just go for a pallet truck 2.5 ton since the price difference is not huge and it gives you that extra headroom for heavier deliveries. My concern is whether something that size is too bulky for tight aisles in a small godown. We don't have wide lanes, maybe 1.8 meters in some spots, and I am worried the bigger fork width will make turning a nightmare. Anyone here using a 2.5 ton unit in a cramped space? Does the extra weight of the truck itself become a problem when you are not even loading it to full capacity? Also curious if the 540mm fork fits standard UAE pallets or if I need to measure everything first.Etiquetas: Ninguno
