My Range Rover Evoque has been making this faint squealing sound for a few weeks and I kept telling myself it was nothing but now it has turned into a proper grinding noise that I can feel through the pedal. I know that means the pads are done and I am probably damaging the discs every time I drive. The dealer quoted me a price that honestly shocked me and they also said I should replace the discs at the same time which would push the bill even higher. A friend told me there are independent specialists who work on Land Rovers and charge way less without cutting corners. I came across a page about Land Rover brake pad replacement in Dubai that lists workshops doing this specific brand but I have never used anyone outside the dealer so I am nervous. How do I know the pads they use are actually correct for my car because I have heard some places put cheaper compound that squeals or wears fast. Also do Land Rovers really need new discs every time or is that just dealer upsell? I am in Dubai Marina and my building has a covered parking so mobile service could work if that is an option.
